Hello again!

KRIS-POHLMANN-Delmenhorst-04.05.2013-225x300Finally, after a long absence we’re back online! It has been a while and there are two main reasons for this. Music and Business.

Music. After 7 good years as frontman of the Kris Pohlmann Band I decided to end the ‘old’ line-up last summer. It was time for a change. I made the decision to continue working as a solo artist, with various musicians, both live and in the studio. Musically I wanted to move into a harder blues-rock area, the first result of which you’ll hear soon with my new album ‘Taylor Road’, an album I’m incredibly proud of and excited about. There’ll be lots of news about this over the next weeks.

Business. It’s inevitable that without a business approach to music an artist cannot be successful. Look at the successful models that likes of Joe Bonamassa, or here in Germany, Henrik Freischlader have adopted. Not only are they brilliant musicians, but they have a sound business model in place. In order to reach the next level I’ve spent a lot of time and effort behind the scenes creating a “Team Kris Pohlmann”, partnerships, a network and a strategy to grow my ‘band’. In addition to a website team and concert booking support, I have put together a talented creative & marketing team.

A key part of this plan is the creation of my own record label. Black Penny Records (site will go live soon). Rather than going the route of signing to an established indie label I wanted to have full control of all aspects of my album releases, covering artistic direction, recording, distribution and promotion. Not only this, but I want to help other talented, motivated blues-rock artists/band reach their potential. More news about this will follow.

The most important part of this music adventure is being able to communicate with you, the fans! The new internet site not only has a new “look” but improved features including a music player streaming every Kris Pohlmann song in full length and a vastly improved approach to delivering you all the latest news.

The newsletter will offer subscribers a host of benefits including ‘breaking news’ – all the big announcements via newsletter BEFORE the news section or social media updates. In addition subscribers will receive special newsletter content and offers.

One big change is that the site will no longer be multi-language. This was a difficult decision but ultimately with an ever increasing band & record label work load it is a sacrifice that needs to be made. There are only 24 hours in a day! The focus has always been to deliver you, the fans, the best music I can. Together with my team we’re now able to do that!

Enjoy the new site, spread the word and get prepared for my best album yet.

Much love, Kris.
