2021 Update

Hello BluesFans!

I hope you’re all safe and healthy and trying to stay positive. Touring is still very much up in the air. Most of my 2021 dates have been postponed or cancelled. I do have a few dates confirmed for autumn/winter and I’ll share those when things are a bit clearer.

In the meantime I’m working on 3 projects.

The first one is a Kris Pohlmann blues-rock album. I’ve got a handful of songs ready for the band to work on with me and turn into ‘recording ready’ songs. I’ve got some ideas for songs in early demo format. Some of them are simply just a riff or two that could become songs, others are lyrics that need to be turned into songs. It’s a process and we’ll see where this takes me and when we could record the album.

The second album is a rock album. I’ve got about 8 heavier songs that are in different stages of completion. Eddie Van Halen’s passing last year was the catalyst for me to explore the heavier rock songs. Personally I’m really impressed with these demos and would love to turn this into a full blown ‘in your face’ rock album. We’ll see what happens with these songs.

The final album I’m working on is an interesting one. It’s a remote collaboration effort with my producer and friend Thomas Hannes. When lockdown started we began experimenting with writing together from our homes in Hamburg & Meerbusch (near Düsseldorf). We both love the Eric Clapton album ‘Pilgrim’. This was Clapton at his most experimental and something we always wanted to try and replicate, at least in terms of songs based around beats & basslines. Now through in our love of John Mayer, JJ Cale and melodies and it makes for a very eclectic mix! This is a work in progress and we hope to give you a taster of the music soon.

For now, these projects are keeping me busy and motivated to make music and continue with music even though the best part, playing live, is missing!

All we can do right now if hope for better days.

Stay safe!

Love from Kris.
